eMedia has announced the release of version 2 of its Guitar Method Vol. 1 CD-ROM. The original eMedia Guitar Method VOL 1 was named a top 50 CD-ROM of the year by Newsweek and favorably reviewed by more than 100 other sources.

eMedia Guitar Method makes learning fun and easy with step-by-step audio- and video-enhanced guitar lessons. 'Version 2 includes an improved lesson plan with new material on chord progressions and other topics, bringing the total number of lessons from acclaimed guitar instructor Kevin Garry, Ph.D., to more than 150. Now a Windows/Macintosh dual-platform title, the upgraded Guitar Method features a new animated fretboard that allows viewing at four different angles. Also new to the title are variable-speed MIDI tracks that let the student slow down or speed up any song or exercise as desired. A redesigned "song looping" feature makes it easier to highlight and repeat challenging sections.

Enhanced accessories include an automatic tuner, metronome, recorder and chord dictionary. The lesson material includes everything needed to get started: from basics such as stringing the guitar to chord strumming, playing melodies and fingerpicking. As always, the instruction is song-based, with more than 70 songs - including hits from artists such as Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, Steve Miller and others.

Version 2 of eMedia Guitar Method Vol. 1 is available at computer and music retail stores nationwide, with an estimated retail price of $59.95.

The CD-ROM is a hybrid for both Windows and Macintosh platforms.
