  • Electronic Trio Fujiya & Miyagi Perform Live at The Mid on March 22nd

    By Guest |

Britain’s Fujiya & Miyagi, with Chicago’s My Gold Mask and Dark Wave Disco deejay Greg Corner will play live at The Mid, in association with React Presents, on Tuesday, March 22nd with doors early at 8pm. Fujiya & Miyagi are only stopping by a few US cities on their current world tour, and are making a Chicago stop at The Mid.

Despite the name, Fujiya & Miyagi are neither Japanese nor a duo. The electronic trio from Brighton, England creates a hybrid of Krautrock and funky disco beats, stemming influences from Germany’s Kraftwerk and Can. In 2006, F & G received acclaim from Pitchfork.com, and in 2007, they played a jam-packed stage at Chicago’s Pitchfork festival. The groups forth studio album “Ventriloquizzing,” released early this year, found the group exploring its darkest and most daring terrain yet.

Chicago’s My Gold Mask is an indie rock duo that describe themselves as, “…two people who like to make music together. Gretta sings and plays drums. Jack plays a nylon string electric guitar. Together we like to make extrinsic pop. We hope you like it.”  The young band is making noise, and will play this year’s coveted SXSW, then will return to their hometown for this gig at The Mid.

Presale tickets are a steal at $10 and are only available on www.clubtix.net for general admission, or call 312.265.3990 to reserve a table for this concert.
