Around 70 EV dealers and others attended a pro sound academy in Ukraine in mid November

Devices like the ZxA1, Dx46, N8000, and CPS series loudspeakers formed the main focus of attention along with more general topics of practical importance

Feedback on both the products and the seminars was positive

Dnipropetrovsk was the setting on the 10th and 11th of November for a series of training seminars for dealers organized by Electro-Voice's Ukrainian partner "Sound House Pro." The course, conducted by a team led by Andrey Garkaviy, was attended by some seventy representatives of the Ukrainian pro audio scene. These included not only the nation's leading dealers but also employees of installation firms and rental companies. As was the case last year, the dealers' meeting was organized in collaboration with DYNACORD's partners in Ukraine, Cortmi.

The Dnipropetrovsk academy focussed mainly on products from the current Electro-Voice range, such as the new ZxA1 loudspeaker family, microphones from the N/DYM , PL, and RE series, CPS series amplifiers, the N8000 audio matrix and the Dx46 FIR Drive Sound System Processor, which made a particularly strong impression on attendees. The course was conducted by Christian Greß (Electro-Voice Export Manager, Eastern Europe), Franz Menke (Sales Manager, Microphones) and Product Manager Peter Hallstein. "The positive feedback on the Dx46 was overwhelming," reports Greß, "and no wonder, as it offers users of Electro-Voice systems not only comprehensive loudspeaker protection but also the option of six-channel FIR-Drive without complications – an extremely attractive system upgrade!"

As well as concise product information on IRIS-Net, IIR and FIR filters and the principles underlying them, the seminars covered more general themes of practical importance to those working in the pro sound sector: the rudiments of power amplifier technology, for example. "To impart knowledge is becoming an increasingly important objective of these seminars," says Greß. "The access we offer participants to brand-neutral information of practical importance represents an added incentive for them to attend and something for which, to judge from the exceedingly positive feedback we received from those attending this pro sound academy, they remain grateful."

The organizer of the two-day event, Andrej Garkaviy, was also more than satisfied. "The idea of including practical seminars has once again been vindicated. Many of the talks were followed by discussions in which there was a lively and productive exchange of practical ideas." As the focus then narrowed to a search for specific solutions came the inevitable payoff: "The number of product enquiries we have been receiving has risen considerably," reports Garkaviy. "The level of interest in our products among attendees from the Western Ukraine, where our position for historical reasons has been less strong in the past, is particularly gratifying. So, from our standpoint as well as theirs, the seminars were a total success."
