  • Electro-Voice Introduces Eliminator i Series Loudspeakers and Amplifiers

    By Guest |

EV (Electro-Voice) is introducing the new Eliminator i series at Summer NAMM, Demo Room #2010, Mezzanine, Level Two. Comprising five Eliminator i models: Eliminator i full-range two-way; Eliminator ii; Eliminator i Sub; Eliminator kW; and Eliminator i amplifier, the new models provide incredible value in an easy-to-use package.

Designed for mobile DJs and working musicians who demand high-output/SPL and clean, punchy bass, when matched with the Eliminator i amplifier (which features state-of-the-art processing), Eliminator i loudspeakers provide dramatically improved performance, especially at frequencies usually associated with kick-drum punch.

The Eliminator i full-range two-way loudspeaker has a 50 20,000 Hz frequency response and 350 watts continuous power handling. Featuring 60-degrees x 40-degrees coverage, DL15BFH, DH2010A, 50 Hz enclosure tuning, 1600 Hz crossover frequency, 8 ohms, Ring Mode Decoupling (RMD), 1/4" inputs, and black carpeted plywood, the Eliminator i is the all-around workhorse of the Eliminator i family.

The Eliminator ii features a frequency response of 50 20,000 Hz, 600 watts continuous power handling, 60-degree x 40-degree coverage, (2) DL15BFH, DH2010A drivers, 50 Hz, 1600 Hz crossover frequency, 50 Hz enclosure tuning, 4 ohms, Ring Mode Decoupling (RMD), parallel Neutrik Speakon inputs and black carpeted plywood.

The Eliminator i Sub features a frequency response of 40 to 100 Hz, 400 watts continuous power handling, DL18BFH, can be used in biamped or full-range passive, 8 ohms nominal, 4 ohms passive, 1/4-inch input,1/4-inch output to Eliminator i and black carpeted plywood.

The Eliminator kW features a frequency response of 35 to 160 Hz, 800 watts continuous power, (2) DL18MT drivers, enclosure tuning to 38 Hz, 4 ohms, parallel Neutrik Speakon connectors and black carpeted Roadwood plywood. As a compact, yet high-output dual 18-inch, its pocket wheels and over-sized vent qualify this sub as high-performance matched with affordability. Prepare to be amazed! Stop by the booth and check out the new look.

The Eliminator i amplifier features a built-in LPN module that compensates for inertial dampening losses and system distortion the same modules used in EVs ACONE audio controller. Unlike parametric filters, shelving filters or Linkwitz-Riley

crossovers which cannot replicate the EVs unique LPN functions EVs (LPN) signal processing topology improves the second order characteristics of the system. The result is a complete reproduction of the bass response of any speaker or subwoofer cabinet a more full and extended bass response when compared to ordinary systems.

The amplifier is rated at 380 watts per channel at 8 ohms; 600 watts per channel at 4 ohms; and 850 watts per channel at 2 ohms at 1 kHz. When bridged at 8 ohms, the amplifier operates at 1,200 watts power capacity; at 4 ohms, 600 watts; and at 2 ohms at 1 kHz, 850 watts. State-of-the-art limiters driven by a sophisticated input/output comparator ensure freedom from amplifier clipping. Designed and built in EVs state-of-the-art ISO 9000 certified facility in Straubing, Germany, the Eliminator i amplifier is a 3 RU amp. Active-balanced XLR-type input and paralleled XLR-type output connectors provide easy signal routing, and operates with unbelievable low distortion.
