The German audio specialist TerraTec Electronic and the Korean company EGOSYS will be working together in the future. EGOSYS is based in the capitol city Seoul and offers its products on the world music market. To kick-off the combined effort TerraTec has licensed their highly awarded EWS-Technology to EGOSYS. This allows EGOSYS to incorporate the powerful EWS64 solution into notebooks. EGOSYS will offer a complete EWS-Technology software and driver set for their "Wami-Box" as free internet download.
There are, however, a few hardware limitations to the functionality of the EWS64 product: the memory capacity of the Wami-Box is limited to 16 MB total and the internal processing samplerate is set at 44,1 kHz. Both companies are committed to further strategic cooperation in development and manufacturing in order to gain flexibility for presenting new exciting products in a shorter time.
Uli Gobbers, head of development at TerraTec, sees the cooperation as optimistic: "Through the licensing agreement with EGOSYS, the innovative EWS technology becomes useable to the mobile market. The cooperative approach for joined development and production helps both companies to more quickly establish further, innovative products on the market."
