Hardcore Bass is latest release from EastWest in Virtual Instrument format, based on a special version of Native Instrument's Kompakt Sampler (including Direct-from-Disk streaming), which is in turn derived from Native Instrument's Kontakt sampler.

The sample library used in Hardcore Bass contains more than 6000 multi-samples (filling 2.2 Gigabytes of space) of hardcore electric bass played through massive Ampeg rigs with the volume turned up, way up. Musicman Stingray & Lakland 5594 5 String Basses were used with a unique pick-up and amp settings, delivering every articulation of picked and fingered, muted, open, scraped and mutilated bass.

Hardcore Bass functions as a plug-in instrument, without the need for a sampler, and works with most music software. Many sound shaping tools have been built in to the audio engine interface, such as multi-mode filters, envelopes, LFOs, reverb, chorus and delay effects. Six basses are included in this collection.

Users of Kontakt 1.5 or higher can also load the sound library directly and make use of Kontakt's advanced capabilities.
