BIAS, Inc. has announced a new licensing program to make powerful digital signal processing technologies originally developed for its own products available for inclusion in other products in the audio space and beyond.

The first four technologies being made available are: Partial Harmonic Audio Technology (PHAT), a high-quality analysis/resynthesis engine; Dither Cloning Audio Technology (DCAT), which can model TDPF dither with any noise-shaping curve; Ultimate Sample Rate Conversion (USRC), an accurate sample rate conversion scheme capable of producing audio at sample rates of any real number; and Corrective Linear-Phase Noise Reduction (CLNR), a suite of noise reduction and removal algorithms.

BIAS' use of the licensable technologies in its own products has given the company the opportunity to optimize performance of the algorithms to provide extremely high audio quality, while maintaining the lowest possible CPU usage.

"For years, BIAS has successfully provided special editions of our retail solutions to OEM partners and we will continue this into the future", said Jason E. Davies, VP of Sales and Marketing for BIAS, inc. "The addition of our new technology licensing program will provide partners the additional opportunity to integrate some of our very best DSP technologies directly into their products."

To increase awareness of the licensing initiative and understanding of the available technologies, the company has issued a white paper.
