  • Disc Makers and Penton Media Team Up to Present 2008 Seminar Series for Indie Musicians and Bands

    By Guest |

Music industry heavyweights combine forces to present twenty-seven free seminars in 8 U.S. cities and Puerto Rico over the next 6 months

Disc Makers is teaming up with Penton Media, leading publisher of Mix, Remix, and Electronic Musician magazines, to present a series of seminars for indie musicians and bands that will take place throughout 2008 across the United States.

The seminars, featuring a variety of topics and expert speakers from Disc Makers and Penton's magazines, will take place starting next month (April 16-23), continue during the summer (June 16-27) and later into the fall (September 22-October 3) in the nine cities where Disc Makers has local store fronts — New York, Philadelphia / South Jersey, Nashville, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Berkeley / San Francisco, Seattle, and Puerto Rico.

Topics for this year's seminars include:

    • Spring: "Sounding Your Best: Mastering Tips and Techniques from the Pros."
    • Summer: "Designing for Success: Packaging & On-Disc Design Ideas"
    • Fall: "Marketing for Musicians: Serious Marketing Tips for Serious Musicians"
Disc Makers and Penton Media developed this series of instructional seminars to help musicians and bands further their musical career, and to learn about the most efficient and effective ways to execute their CD and DVD projects. The events allow participants to meet and greet Disc Makers representatives and Penton's magazine editors, and to learn from the pros about topics ranging from mastering and design to marketing, promotion and distribution.

All seminars are free and open to the public, and will begin at 7:00pm local time. Space is limited and early signup is encouraged.
