Avid Boosts VENUE | S6L Live Sound System’s Networking Functionality with New Dante Option Card

VENUE | DNT-192 delivers the flexibility to integrate VENUE | S6L with Dante-enabled devices and infrastructures

Burlington, MA, June 29, 2016 – Avid® today announced a new Dante Option Card for Avid’s flagship VENUE | S6L live sound system. Available now, the VENUE | DNT-192 Dante Option Card enables engineers to integrate VENUE | S6L with Dante-enabled devices and existing Dante networks for the ultimate flexibility.

The easy-to-integrate, 16-channel audio interface card delivers high-speed, high-quality Dante connectivity and communication to VENUE | S6L systems, and preserves the full quality and integrity of original sound sources to achieve the highest quality mixes.

“We’re excited that the Dante card for the Avid VENUE | S6L is now shipping,” said John Rechsteiner, VP of Global Sales and Support at Audinate. “Avid and Audinate are both leaders in their respective markets, and this project is the result of several years of collaboration between the two companies. The availability of the Dante option card represents a great opportunity for Avid customers to connect to the over 800 Dante-enabled products available today.”

Based on the Dante Brooklyn II module, the DNT-192 Card enables users to integrate VENUE | S6L with a network of Gigabit Dante-enabled devices, including external audio mixers, amps, preamps, DSP, wireless mics, and more, while avoiding the pitfalls of analog connections, including signal degradation, crosstalk and electrical interference. Customers can install up to six Dante cards in a single Stage 64 for a maximum total of 64 inputs and 32 outputs per rack.

The free Dante Controller software enables users to quickly configure cards and devices, monitor signal health and status, and route audio throughout their entire Dante network. Set up is smoother and faster than ever before thanks to automatic device discovery, one-click signal routing, and user-editable device and channel labels.

VENUE | S6L is a fully modular, scalable live sound mixing system that delivers best-in-class functionality for a range of live sound mixing applications, including front-of-house, monitor, broadcast, theater, and more. Featuring modern, touchscreen workflows and the industry’s most advanced live sound engine, VENUE | S6L offers unprecedented power to easily handle large, complex tours and events. Thanks to tight integration with industry-standard Pro Tools®, VENUE | S6L functions as the perfect front-end to the Avid MediaCentral™ Platform, the most fluid end-to-end media management and distribution platform in the industry.
