Crate Audio introduced new additions to its SPA series of power amps. The SPA power amps offer a wide range of power output levels to fill a variety of applications.

New for 2004, the SPA100 is a compact, 1/2 rack unit that puts out 100 watts at 4 ohms, 75 watts at 8 ohms, and was designed with the needs of today's modern musician in mind. It packs professional features like speakon connectors, protection circuitry, and whisper-quiet convection-cooled operation into a compact, half-rack space. List Price: $169.99.

The SPA500 offers a respectable 250 watts per side stereo at 4 ohms in a 2-space configuration. This powerhouse is for powering small to medium sized speakers, high frequencies in bi-amped or tri-amped PA systems, stage monitors and more. List $379.99.

The SPA900, also new this year, ups the ante with 450 watts per channel stereo. The dual-variable speed fans and front-intake exhaust help provide clean, quiet operation even in the most demanding situations. The SPA900 offers a strong "watt per pound" quotient -- 900 watts in a 32 lb. Package. List $499.99.

The final SPA newcomer for 2004, the SPA1600 is the perfect compliment for medium to large PA applications, as well as either high or low frequencies in a bi-amped or tri-amped system. The SPA1600 puts out an impressive 800 watts per channel stereo or can be mono-bridged to produce 1350 watts. List $629.99.
