Crest Performance, a division of Crest Audio, introduced the CPM 24-4 and CPM 32-4, two new mixing consoles designed with quiet circuitry and I-PRO mic inputs suitable for studio or live audio applications.

With 24 and 32 channels respectively, the four-bus CPM 24-4 and CPM 32-4 mixers are designed for club installations, houses of worship or studio settings. Each channel has six aux sends and four-band EQ (high, low, sweepable mid frequency and variable low cut) for maximum EQ control, and both have two channels with pad and polarity buttons and two zones of switchable phantom power. The back panel on the RQ 4332 is inset, keeping unsightly connection wires hidden once installed.

Each channel can be assigned to the left, right or a separate mono bus that can be used for recording or to create a separate mix for the center cluster or a remote room. All four buses have built-in soft-knee compressors that require minimal setting as well as threshold and post-compression gain controls. These compressors are equipped with reverse-wired inserts so they can be used on a channel or on the outputs via a simple stereo cable.

In addition, compressors 1/2 and 3/4 are linkable and there are inserts on the left, right and mono outputs. All of these, along with aux 1 through aux 4, are XLR balanced. The 1/4" inputs on the two stereo channels can be used at the same time as the XLR inputs on those channels, and separate input gain controls are provided. This increases the number of inputs that can be used simultaneously to 36 on the CPM 32-4 and 26 on the CPM 24-4.

The CPM 24-4 and CPM 32-4 will be available in Q2 2005 from authorized Crest Performance dealers.
