    By Guest |

The German pro-audio enterprise DYNACORD has a rich tradition in the development and manufacture of loudspeaker systems with wooden enclosures. Its many offerings in this field have long enriched the global pro-audio market and can be heard worldwide delivering sterling performance in an extremely wide variety of applications. With the new Corus Evolution family, DYNACORD has raised the bar in the field of compact loudspeakers to a new high. The proof is to be found in the high power-handling, excellent acoustic performance and attractive price of the new loudspeakers. Made up of six professional models, the new loudspeaker series is equally well suited to the reproduction of live music and to fixed installation. The Corus Evolution series comprises three full-range systems (C 12.2, C 15.2, C 25.2) and three subwoofers (Sub 1.15, Sub 1.18, Sub 2.18)

The full-range members of the Corus Evolution family Corus Evolution C 12.2: A compact trapezoidal twelve-inch / two-way full-range box with a power handling capacity of 500W (2000W peak). For the low frequency range, it boasts an SMX 2120 woofer, whilst a DH3 compression driver in a 90° x 50° constant directivity horn is responsible for the frequencies above 1650 Hz.

Corus Evolution C 15.2: A compact trapezoidal fifteen-inch / two-way full-range box with a power handling capacity of 500W (2000W peak). For the low frequency range, it boasts an SMX 2151 woofer, whilst a DH3 compression driver in a 90° x 50° constant directivity horn is responsible for the frequencies above 1550 Hz. Corus Evolution C 25.2: Offering extremely high sound pressure levels in an astonishingly compact format, the C 25.2 is a double-fifteen-inch / two-way full-range box with a power handling capacity of 1000W (4000W peak) capable of delivering sound pressure levels of up to 139 dB. For the low frequency range, it boasts two SMX 2151 woofers, whilst a ND2-8 neodymium compression driver in a rotatable 60° x 40° constant directivity horn is responsible for the frequencies above 1750 Hz.

The full-range cabinets of the Corus Evolution series are equipped with SMX series woofers and tried-and-tested DH3 (or ND2 in the case of the C 25.2) high-frequency drivers. Their state-of-the-art crossover design features fourth- and sixth-order filters respectively, as well as dynamic HF protections.

The subwoofers of the Corus Evolution family Corus Evolution Sub 1.15 / Sub 1.18 The subwoofers Sub 1.15 (one fifteen-inch EVS-15S woofer) and Sub 1.18 (one eighteen-inch EVS-18S woofer) make ideal partners for the Corus C 12.2 and C 15.2 full-range boxes where extended bass reproduction is desired. Thanks to their integrated low-pass filters, they can easily, if necessary, be operated parallel in single-amp mode.

Corus Evolution Sub 2.18 The Sub 2.18 is a double-eighteen-inch high-performance subwoofer capable of delivering very high sound pressure levels and boasting sensitivity and max SPL figures of 102 dB 1W/1m and 138 dB respectively. Its power handling capacity is 1000W continuous and 4000W peak. The Sub 2.18 is universally suitable for the creation of active two-way or three-way systems. It is above all, however, the ideal companion to the C 25.2 for the creation of an active two-way system.

The subwoofers employ loudspeakers from Electro-Voice's EVS series. The Sub 1.15 and Sub 1.18 are further equipped with integrated low-pass filters, which make it possible for them to be operated parallel to MF/HF boxes.
