    Capitol Studios to Host METAlliance Academy Immersive Recording Workshop

    — “In Session with The Guys” will take place March 10-11, 2018 —
     
     
     
    Los Angeles, CA, March 7, 2018 – Capitol Studios, the iconic and state-of-the-art recording facility located in the historic Capitol Records Tower in Hollywood, California, will be hosting the upcoming two-day immersive recording workshop of the METAlliance (Music Engineering and Technology Alliance), March 10-11, 2018. Dubbed “In Session with The Guys,” this exclusive event is part of the METAlliance Academy® series. Attendees will participate and interact with the METAlliance founders (award-winning audio engineers and producers Chuck Ainlay, Ed Cherney, Frank Filipetti, George Massenburg, Elliot Scheiner and Al Schmitt) in live recording and mixing sessions. By special arrangement, the METAlliance is taking over the historic Capitol Studios for the entire weekend.

    • Al Schmitt Educational Recording Techniques
    • Chuck Ainlay and Elliot Scheiner Mixing
    • “In the Box” home studio set up, critical listening and mixing with Frank Filipetti and George Massenburg

    Established in 2005, the METAlliance (Music Engineering and Technology Alliance) is a strategic union of music producers and engineers dedicated to the highest standards of audio and delivery of music, securing the art through recording technology in all its evolving modern forms. It was founded by globally-recognized, award-winning audio engineers and producers Chuck Ainlay, Ed Cherney, Frank Filipetti, George Massenburg, Elliot Scheiner, Al Schmitt, and the late Phil Ramone. The METAlliance works with educators to help insure the skills and techniques that have developed through the history of recording are carried forward. 
     
     
    Previous METAlliance Academy events in Hollywood and New York City have been intense weekends covering every aspect of recording from mic technique and recording basic tracks to critical listening and advanced mixing. METAlliance co-founder Al Schmitt stated, “We love working very closely with a diverse group of students, pros, educators and recording beginners.” 
     
     
    The METAlliance Academy offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience living history while learning invaluable techniques with the legendary master craftsmen who founded the METAlliance. Space is very limited. Amenities include lunch and giveaways.
