Bubinga-Bodied Artwood Acoustics from Ibanez

Along with Artwood acoustic guitars in mahogany and flamed maple, Ibanez now offers two models, the AW300NT and AW300CENT, with bodies of bubinga. "Bubinga has a nice tight sound with a very rich bass," commented Charlie Hayashi of the Ibanez Acoustic Guitar Division. "Plus it's a beautifully figured wood with a very exotic look. Something much different from the same old same old."

Both bubinga-bodied models also feature the Artwood hallmark feature of a solid spruce top as well as a dovetail neck joint and a new bracing system which allows even more resonance than scalloped bracing. An arrow-shaped fretboard inlay enhances the upscale look of the two guitars. For true hi-fidelity response, the AW300DENT acoustic-electric version utilizes the Fishman Acoustic Matrix pickup with the Fishman Prefix Plus EQ. Both models are feature Grover tuners and are factory strung with Elixir strings.
