  • Brent Hines of Mastodon Joins The Michael Kelly Family

    By Guest |

Michael Kelly Guitars announced today that guitarist Brent Hines of Mastodon fame has been added to Michael Kelly's family of artists with his new Michael Kelly Deuce Phoenix semi-hollowbody. A member of one of the hottest metal / hardcore bands Brent joins the family company of fellow Mastodon guitarist Bill Kelliher and bassist Troy Sanders who are also Michael Kelly artists with their Michael Kelly Jumbo FT and Dragonfly Acoustic Bass respectively.

Mastodon was named one of Alternative Press Magazine's "Bands You Need to Know in 2004" and one of Metal Hammer's "50 Bands You Must Hear" for 2004 (alongside The Bronx, Avenged Sevenfold, Matchbook Romance and Velvet Revolver. In February, 2004, MASTODON was named one of the "25 Most Important Bands in Metal" by AP and as one of the "25 Greatest Live Bands Ever" by Revolver Magazine. The Revolver list also included such rock giants as Kiss, Nirvanna, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and Slayer.

Brent chose the Michael Kelly Deuce Phoenix as his semi-hollowbody guitar of choice. With striking visuals like the flame maple top back and sides and Phoenix flame inlay lapping up the fretboard, it's sure to get noticed on stage. Rounding out the classic tone and reliability of this semi-hollowbody are Michael Kelly's PAF-Plus pickups, Grover Imperial tuners and set-neck construction. A combination that's not only tempting to look at, but also irresistible to play.

Michael Kelly artists Brent Hines, Bill Kelliher and Troy Sanders of Mastodon can be seen this summer in support of the Unholy Alliance Tour.
