Ashdown Engineering created Ashdown Labs to develop the ultimate in high-headroom, high-power, high-fidelity bass amplification.

The first amp in the new Ashdown Labs range is the MK500 Signature Series, developed in consultation with the Level 42 bassist Mark King. As you might expect, the MK500 is a funk powerhouse with dynamics and attack. A 12-band graphic EQ is partnered with a 500 Watt power section in a circuit design which keeps things pure and simple using all analog components and strictly no integrated circuits.

Features include a conventional jack input, plus a balanced XLR input for the ultimate low impedance connection between instrument and amplifier. Switch in Harmonic Emphasis -- a circuit that takes the bass signal and emphasises harmonics within it to produce a bright zingy top end -- and it's like always playing with a new set of strings. And external connectivity is comprehensive with a balanced DI output switchable Pre and Post EQ, and a Tuner Mute for silent tuning.
