The sound-active Rotoballs TRI LED and Mini TRI Ball are LED-powered versions of well-established American DJ halogen effects that have been extremely popular with mobile DJs, bands and small nightclubs in the past. Not only do these club favorites now benefit from the long 100,000-hour life, low power draw and cool operating temperature of their 3W LED lamps. American DJ has gone a step further and utilized its exclusive advanced TRI LED Technology to take these spinning spheres to a whole new level of eye-popping visual excitement. What makes American DJ's new TRI LED Technology so exciting is the way it gives the Rotoballs TRI LED and Mini TRI Ball the flexibility to produce beams in a whole spectrum of different colors—not just the typical red, green and blue that LED effects could create in the past. Each 3W TRI Color LED lamp is actually a 3-in-1 lamp containing 3 different-color 1W LEDs (one red, one green and one blue). This allows RGB color mixing to be done within each lamp, which gives the Rotoballs TRI LED and Mini TRI Ball the ability to produce up to seven different colors: red, green, blue, purple, cyan, yellow and white. Best of all, both the Rotoballs TRI LED and Mini TRI Ball are extremely affordable, easy to operate and designed for the DJ/mobile entertainer/small club market. Here's a closer look at these two new TRI LED rotating ball effects: Rotoballs TRI LED — An ideal, easy-to-use centerpiece effect, the Rotoballs TRI LED features dual rotating balls equipped with 4 ultra-bright 3W 3-in-1 Tri-color LEDs. It covers a wide area with 60 razor-sharp sound-activated beams that dramatically change colors and strobe to the beat of the music. For added versatility, it features a variable speed knob that lets users adjust the velocity of rotation, which is variable up to 35 RPM. Rotoballs TRI LED has a power consumption of only 18W per unit, and it offers multi-voltage operation for added flexibility (AC 100V???240V @ 50/60Hz). The dual-headed fixture measures 22" x 9" x 11.5" and weighs 11 lbs. Mini TRI Ball — A small, compact, rotating and strobing fixture, the Mini TRI Ball creates a mirrorball-type effect — similar to previous models in the American DJ line but with the added benefit of 2 powerful 3W TRI Color LEDs. Featuring a wide beam angle of 180??, it produces 56 rich, saturated beams that change color, spin and flash to the beat of the music at variable speed up to 15 RPM. A 3-position FX switch lets user easily set the Mini TRI Ball for constant rotation, no rotation (static) or sound active rotation. Drawing only 13W of power, this compact unit is great for any mobile performer on the go, measuring just 7.75" x 7.75" x 6" and weighing only 4 lbs. Thanks to the cool operating temperature of their LED lamps, both the Rotoballs TRI LED and Mini TRI Ball can run all night without having to shut down for duty cycles and they can be packed up immediately after a performance. Both are extremely low-maintenance; their 100,000-hour ratings virtually eliminate the hassle and expense of lamp replacement. "Our new Rotoballs TRI LED and Mini TRI Ball are the latest examples of how American DJ is bringing cutting-edge LED technology to our core customer group of working DJs, mobile entertainers and small clubs," said Scott Davies, General Manager of the American DJ Group of Companies. "Both models are based on popular halogen effects and are easy to use and very affordable. Yet they also offer the many advantages of LEDs such as energy efficiency, low heat generation and long lamp life. And — thanks to our advanced TRI LED technology ??? they go beyond the typical red, green and blue beams produced by LED effects to create a stunning rainbow of vibrant colors." The MSRP of the Rotoballs TRI LED is $239.95. The MSRP of the Mini TRI Ball is $169.95.
