  • Allen & Heath Expands UK Headquarters

    By Guest |

British console manufacturer Allen & Heath has recently expanded its Penryn-based headquarters with a new two-story facility to house the sales and marketing, research and development, and technical support departments. A subsidiary of Harman International Inc., the company is a leading manufacturer of professional audio equipment for global markets. Its current range of products includes live mixing consoles, DJ mixers, and some of the very latest digital mixing equipment.

"The new building represents a continuation of what has always been a key aim at Allen & Heath: sustainable growth," says Glenn Rogers, managing director. "Because we have a full order book and several new models going through production, we needed increased manufacturing space, in this case, the area freed up by re-housing major departments. Additionally, as a leading-edge manufacturer, our essential dedicated tech support, R&D, and sales and marketing operations are now in much closer contact with each other. We also now have a separate testing lab, which, due to the extensive amount of research and the new digital products we have planned, is a vital requirement."

Moving from London to its current location in Penryn, Cornwall back in 1981, Allen & Heath celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Since joining the Harman International group of companies in 1991, the manufacturer has grown by 500 percent over the past decade.

Being based in the far southwest of England has never been any handicap to Allen & Heath's worldwide success. The company's products can be found engineering sound in places as diverse as the Sydney Opera House, Vatican, Disney organization, and MTV Europe.
