Aviom, Inc., manufacturer of the Pro16 Monitor Mixing System, introduced the 6416Y2 Digital I/O Card. The 6416Y2 Digital I/O Card brings the power of Aviom's A-Net Pro64 audio networking to Yamaha's line of digital mixing consoles.

"The growing number of network-compatible products has given the customer more options to create seamless networked audio systems," states Marc Lopez, product manager, Yamaha Commercial Audio. "Our position is to support, rather than limit, those choices. Yamaha and Aviom continue to be leaders in providing those solutions, as witnessed by the success of the Aviom Y1 A-Net card, and the debut of the 6416Y2 Digital I/O card."

The 6416Y2 allows the user to stream up to 16 channels of digital inputs and outputs simultaneously and works with all Yamaha consoles that use MY format expansion cards.

"The power of Pro64 networked audio coupled with Yamaha's digital mixing consoles greatly expands the creative possibilities for engineers," comments Ray Legnini, senior marketing product manager for Aviom. "We are pleased to have the support of Yamaha as we bring new cutting edge technology to the audio industry."

A-Net Pro64 and the 6416Y2 card enable Yamaha users to expand the I/O capabilities of the digital console significantly, adding unlimited digital splits, digital snake options, and the ability to send control data in the form of Aviom's Virtual Data Cables. Connectivity to Aviom's popular Pro16 Monitor Mixing System is supported via the optional Systems Interface Module.
