    By Guest |

Some of the world's most renowned music producers and engineers, along with professionals from the pro audio industry's leading production facilities, manufacturers, and distributors will converge for the 15th Annual TEC L.A. Open, to be held Monday, May 17, at the Malibu Country Club. Returning as Honorary Chairman is famed recording engineer Al Schmitt, a member of the TEC Awards© Hall of Fame and recipient of 20 Grammys®, as well as the Recording Academy's Lifetime Achievement Award. Presented by the TEC Foundation for Excellence in Audio, the popular charity event will be sponsored for the third consecutive year by Guitar Center Professional. Proceeds of the tournament support the House Ear Institute's hearing health outreach services for audio professionals and the TEC Foundation's TECnology Hall of Fame, recognizing the most historically significant audio innovations and inventors, held annually at the AES Convention. Besides the traditional Longest Drive, Closest-to-the Pin, and Putting contests, there will be a chipping contest alongside the various competitions managed by ever-popular Pin-Up Golf. Players will also have the chance to walk away with some exciting prizes, including a brand new car for a Hole-In-One. The day will conclude with a dinner and awards presentation, along with a raffle and silent auction featuring an assortment of donated audio equipment, musical instruments, wine and gift packages from sponsors and other supporters. Along with the traditional sponsorships (including Contest Holes, Box Lunch, Golf Cart, Golf Balls and 19th Hole), this year the TEC Foundation will also be offering a Cigar Sponsorship, Coffee Bar Sponsorship and an Ice Cream Sandwich Sponsorship, as well as customized Hole Sponsorships that will fit any budget. Sponsorships, foursomes, and individual tickets are available now. For more information about these and the silent auction or raffle, please visit http://http://www.tecfoundation.com/
