What, is this some kind of joke? Isn't it common knowledge that he found them at a truck stop/rest stop and thought they would reflect the stage lights in a cool way? regarding having them on the back, if you lift up the guitar, spin it around, play on your shoulders and shit like that its more likely to reflect stage lights in a cool way.

for vocal compression i usually start with low ratio,2:1 or 3:1 very fast attack, 0.5 sec release... and tweak according to whats needed. that motown article seems interesting about compressing the hell out of a double track adding treble to it and leaving the other uncompressed. not sure it would work well in all circumstances but could be worth a try.

what was the prize again? whats the deadline? or is it the last person to post before this thread gets removed?

traveling plek machine sounds cool.

i heard some good things about adk mics but haven't tried one or heard any clips on vocals. they make several fet based mics that are around $2-300 or so.
