http://www.netmusicians.org/?section=id&value=1486 Here is a clip I made a while back with what appeared to be the right input levels, and it does have too much gain but I can still hear the raspiness that bugs me in this one. If you cant hear it, I can make a lower gain clip.

I have been working on trying to get out a sort of raspiness that seems to be in there and havent had success (with high gain patches). Tried dialing in every way it seems possible with multiple patches and so far havent had any success. I dont expereince this with a miced cabinet. Used diff guitars, input levels, turned down the gain, etc. I am using the gnxsupermodels patches and reaper guitar>USB>reaper. Anyone else expereince a similar problem? If so, what were you able to come up with? It could be something obvious but I just cant seem to catch it.
