  1. I love my AC15tbx but I can definitely recommend a Laney if you're trying to save some dough. The Laney VC series is VERY reminiscent of the Vox AC series but still manages to have it's own sound. I've owned several Vox's, and three Laney's- 2 VC15's and a VC30...out of all of them, my personal fave has been an older UK-made VC15 2x10...they're really scarce but if you can find one used, you should be able to pick it up for $350 or so...
  2. Both nice guitars, but I have to agree with Doc M...the offset is awesome!
  3. Oh {censored}...you may have talked me into it I'm gonna mull it over..I'll report back if I get it...actually, if the guy will trade, I'll definitely pick it up!
  4. There's a Champ 25se on CL right now that I'm tempted by. I've sort of had my heart set on a Pro Reverb(vintage or reissue) but it's a bit out of the budget at the moment...basically I want a Twin that isn't so damn loud The other thoughts are a Deluxe Reverb, a Vibrolux, or a Concert Reverb...I've heard great things about the Champ 25se but was hoping for all-tube and honestly, the looks are tough to get past!
  5. FWIW...the Concert Reverb re-issue from several years ago is the same amp as the Pro Reverb(50W, Twin-like clean channel, reverb, vibrato, 1/4 power option) but 4x10 instead of 2x12...just another thing to look out for...
  6. How about the old Bronco champ? It's just a silver-face Vibro Champ IIRC, but you can find them for cheap sometimes. People have already mentioned the Vibrolux and the Pro Reverb...I'll also chime in for the Red-knob era amps-those are some of the best buys on the used market, IMO...
  7. Really bored...thought I'd dig up this oldie-but-goodie! Maybe one of the new moderators will yank it this time!
  8. Did you ever listen to Hanson? I hate that thing. Ever driven a Hyundai? I hate that thing too. Hmmm...root canal? I hate that thing as much as GC or MF...Ever run out of weed? I hate that thing...Ever forget proper English?...I hate that thing...
  9. I....HATE...THAT...THING!!! ... ...

  11. I'm actually a Music123 fan. When I'm at a GC and don't want to be "bugged" I just tell them I'm picking up some picks and just looking. That usually sends 'em away. Also...I must say, I have a salesguy-Dave at my local GC who's a fantastic guy. He knows his {censored}, he's mellow, not pushy, and hooks me up completely. I met him because I was interested in purchasing something at a "mega" sale price, but couldn't do it until the sale was over. Dave told me not to worry about it, he'd give me sales prices anytime. Since then, he's sold me everything at below online pricing...So finding a good, informed, trustable sales guy is a HUGE advantage. Last thing...if anyone wants the location and full name of the sales guy, PM me. It's in the DC area... (and no, it's not me or a friend...)
