I think he's talking about a Floyd.
I doubt there's neck angle trouble, but I am not positive. They made a 25.5" V with FR in the 80s but they could have changed the neck angle. I thought The Shred V and/or the Tribal V, both '67' RIs were FRs but they were actually Kahlers no locking nut.
The problem from my recollection is someone doing a shitty route job which caused all sorts of problems or buying a crappy licensed FR instead of the real deal. The right parts and labor will solve those issues, however. It will just cost you a pretty penny, and could stunt resale. The easiest on the wallet and resale is to go Kahler, which bolts right on, but they tend to slip out of tune more easily than FRs and you still need a locking nut.
Shred and Tribal were Kahlers.
I've never used a kahler should I just go that route since there's less woodwork involved?
