I am a west african percussionist...i play the djembe and dunduns in the mande tradition. I recently returned to my first love of singing. I have no vocal training aside from singing in the school choir in elementary school. I'm learning a little everyday and i draw a lot of inspiration from Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Ray Charles, Louis Armstrong, Bessie Smith, Norah Jones and Sarah Vaughan, Bjork, Beth Gibbons to name a few. I enjoy all types of music, but I'd really like to build my blues and jazz vocabulary.
