I second the Line6 tone port for recording your guitar (and Bass too). Then use ACID to create drum loops/parts. I also like Groove Agent as a virtual drummer. It's a program that works in Cubase. Very easy to use and very real, human sounding drum parts. Not sure what the cheapest Cubase level costs but Groove Agent is between 150 and 200 bucks.
