  1. I was very fond of the GFX series amp because I could work a mean EVH-style tone out of it, and they were cheap as hell on the used market. I can't imagine how Crate is still around with them not being the only entry level cheapo amp vendor now. Never owned a Powerblock, but the idea of it is shear genius as everyone says. Why discontinue a golden product like that?? Maybe they hired an outside designer/builder for the Powerblock and the contract expired?
  2. would pair up like mustard and icecream mmmmmmm mustard and ice cream . . .
  3. For what it's worth, I had a Squire Tele' for a few weeks that I ran through my 6505+ when my band played a hard rock cover of Garth Brooks's "Rodeo". Cheapo wiring and pups made me sell it rather quick, but I don't believe you'd have a bad experience with a good Tele' through a 6505+
  4. I have 4 Boss pedals in my board, all hooked up to a power supply. When I switch the power supply on, 2 of the 4 pedals (RV-5 and OS-2) automatically turn on, while the other 2 (CE-5 and OC-2) are off. Is there a workaround to have them automatically be off when power is applied or am I stuck with this??
  5. Crate solid states are horrid IMO. BV series really isn't that bad for a tube amp. Some sound real nice when modded. The only Crate amp I have ever really liked was the GFX/GX series. They are perfect for early Van Halen tones on the cheap when dialed in right. No joke. Check out JFRocks dot com and his "Vin Heuton" videos. I stumbled across that site, and the next day picked up my GX-1200H head. Pair that with a JB'd guitar and it's "Brown Sound" for sure. VH lead tones aren't that great, but rhythms are dead on.
