For a cheap alternative, try the old peavey vtm 60 or 120. Killer amps, pretty much jcm 800s with a lot of mods on dip switches via the front of the amp. I rewired mine to run off of el34s (from 6l6s), was brittish amp heaven.

but seriously, try the duct tape thing. I really have that problem w/my v30s. My crate cab's ugly as hell anyways, i just put the duct tape on the outside, it helps a lot.

Does anyone find that when they're in a room with their amp.......... they start to sport uncontrollable wood? Cuz that happens to me sometimes
