  1. Timing, lyrical genius, phenomenal musicianship, sense of pitch, and knowing how to do a cool show. Wow... that was just awful. I did hear some music but the guy with the mic was jibber jabbering over top of it. But I can acknowledge the talent of whoever composed the music over which he was barfing his nonsense. To your points, he broke timing at least three times in his set. I could probably find more. Lyrical Genius... I'll have to take your word for it. I only understood "Imaginary Places" and the rest was dibba dooba zippa zappa pippa blam blam something or other. Sense of pitch... have your ears checked. He was extremely pitchy and not a singer by any stretch of the imagination. Cool show... I would have walked out even if it was free. The guy running the equipment seemed well practiced and rehearsed. Other than that... didn't see a lot of musical talent there. Just some guy talking fast. Now he could probably get some commercial gigs... like at the end of car commercials where the fast talking guy tells you all the legal stuff. But that's not musical talent... that's just talking fast. His words may be poetic... don't know... couldn't understand them. But that's still more poetry than singing isn't it. Talking over someone else's music, Like I said earlier. But art is very subjective. I do not consider rap music. I do not consider 90% to be art (I think they get away with horrible speech most of the time by labeling it "Art"). But whatever floats your boat... it's obviously sold as music to people who don't know the difference. Like I said, better musician than anyone on the boards. I really didn't think you'd try something that stupid. You still have not identified that you can count, measure, or otherwise identify the extent of the musical talent of everyone on this board. For all you know I could be that guy in the video. For all you know any one member of this board could be the greatest musical genius currently living on this planet. The fact is... you simply do not know what your talking about. Ergo... you're full of crap. The video you posted proves only that you enjoy garbage. Nothing more. Strike Two!
  2. dude- go be a maga zord somewhere else Again... How can I argue with such a well thought out and intelligent reply? I don't even know what a Maga Zord is.
  3. My Dad was half hologram... guess that makes me a quarter.
  4. How can I argue with such a well thought out and intelligent reply?
  5. WTF are you talking about? Which part? I'd be happy to elaborate. Are you trying to convince us what music to listen to? We're not talking about music. We're talking about rap. Where people rhyme made up words over top of someone else's music. You know... like for shizzle my nizzle. What is a nizzle anyway?
  6. As for the people saying rap IS {censored} and has NO talent eat a dick up..... you ignorant mother {censored}ers. Ahhh spoken like a true scholar. I think my point about rap contributing to people's stupidity has been firmly made. Enjoy your IQ.
  7. You can learn a lot if you open up your ears. So in other words you have no evidence to support your so called fact? I didn't think so. A lot of talk is what I would expect from a rap fan. I enjoyed rap when it was original and had something to offer. I came up in the 80's and 90's when there was some real talent to be had. And I am sure there is 1 talented rap artist adrift in the endless sea of garbage there is to be had now... he or she is just not worth the effort of listening to all the crap you have to sift through to find them. You cannot deny that the majority... not all... but the majority of rap out there now is some idiot talking about his gold toofs, bitches, and 22 inch rims, as they is hittin da club. It contributes to people's stupidity. I would still be willing to look over your proof of this "fact" you claim to know when you gather it up though.
  8. several rappers have more musical talent than anyone on this board. Fact. Anyone? The wonderful thing about facts is that they can be proven. So... I await your evidence that proves this fact you speak of. First you would have to know the extent of musical talent of EVERYONE on this board. Which you do not. Still I would love to see your proof for this "fact". I suspect you have none so I won't bother actually waiting for you to produce any. I'll just assume your full of it. Rap does require musical talent however... someone else's music, so the rapper can shout made up words over top of it. "From the window, to that walls, Skeet Skeet Skeet"... yeah... real poetic.
  9. In my living room it would be awesome. It would be like having a serious 3D music video. You could have your favorite band perform for you in your own home. Would be great for parties. But it would never take the place of a concert and having the artist truly play for you. I see it more as a new dimension to listening to an album. Not a replacement for live music. It would always be a synthetic copy.
  10. Seems like there is a "Playing in front of people" element to it. Maybe you just enjoy entertaining people and that particular avenue has lost it's appeal. Maybe take up acting or singing. Perhaps join a local theater group and do some small plays or something. It might just be that you love performing more than actually playing. Or hey... do a solo thing. Find some good acoustic songs and do a 1 man and his guitar thing.
  11. Do it as long as you love it. When you stop loving it... stop doing it. Give it some time... maybe after taking 6 months off or a year you'll miss it and wanna jump back in. I took a break for nearly 8 years. I went to college, grad school, started working in my chosen field. I just had more important things to do and was so busy I never had time. My poor little Ibanez Acoustic sat in the corner collecting dust and my fender strat lived in its case. But now I've fallen in love with it all over again and am loving rediscovering it. There's nothing that says you have to do it this way or that way or for X amount of time. Do it however you want. If playing in bands is getting old... play alone... just for you.
