  1. You have my vote. With great power comes great responsibility. JJ for the next Spiderman?
  2. Around $400 if it's really clean and has the footswitch and cover is a fair price these days. Three bills would be a great deal.
  3. Sounds fantastic. I've thought about one of those at some point and giving up the HRD. I just don't need the 40 watts. I still like the HRD though. It does the Fender cleans great.
  4. Sorry, there was only one at that price. Incredible price if that for "new". Even great for used.
  5. Why don't you try sleeping on your side? Hahahahaha! I was just thinking, "So how did that vomit crusted tuna samich taste?" I know, I know, very bad. I 'm a sick, twisted thinking bastard.
  6. I'm not sure if this counts. This is my main guitar. I got this in early 2008 (i think) without the pickups and most of the hardware. was lucky enough to find some of the original type pickups, and then threw on some hardware. the original neck broke twice - first time was at the neck joint and headstock, which i (poorly) repaired. then it happened again about six months later just to the headstock (see here http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i87/BlackHolesAndRevelations/gear/random/misc/GEDC0436-1.jpg ). ended up having the neck replaced completely as it was warped. Here it is today. The ONLY parts original to this guitar are the studs in the body and the pickup rings. The body is the same as it was 20 something years ago...except for the finish, which I'm considering redoing (don't ask what happened to it). That's one of the coolest pics I've ever seen. What a setup.
  7. If I knew it was true, then no, I'd likely not do business with them. But if I heard about it from some random post on the internet, that wouldn't sway me either way, because that just does not equate to truth to me. This is a textbook definition of internet hearsay. Maybe it happened as told, maybe it didn't. I don't know, and I'll never know. But what I do know is that the more outrageous a claim or story is, the more I'm going to expect proof before I believe it. Listening to internet recommendations about pickups or amps is one thing, but this is something else. Anyway, to sum up my position: it's irresponsible to contact someone's employer and accuse the employee of something unless you actually do have rock solid evidence that is literally in your hands. Not a post on an internet message board. The guy who did the deed, posted the thread. He came in and admitted what he did and where he worked in doing it, basically boasting about it. And I'm the one who e-mailed the President of the company to let him know. I have no regrets whatsoever about doing it either. Having owned my own business for over 25 years, I have had to work hard to build up a reputation and had my share of putting out fires from bad employees who try to sully it. Also have had my share of employees that try to take work out from under me on the side while I'm paying them excellent wages, benefits, workman's comp insurance, payroll taxes, advertising dollars, etc. just to get contracts to keep them in a job. I felt it was my "duty" to let him know how the hell his employees were acting, that they were posting this stuff on a public forum, and that he could read it and act on it in a manner in which he pleased. I'm damn proud I did it.
  8. ah, so this was toronto... *ponders getting someones ass fired* Ontario, and I e-mailed the President with the details as soon as the original thread went up. I guess it's up to him what he does with the situation.
  9. I don't know how much the seller's fault this was, but the original OP definitely was shady and new his guilt. His original post talked about how the old guy came in asking what he could get for the guitars and was told "nothing". So the old guy basically told them to dispose of them. These guys knew they had something. This dude ended up with a 1960 Melody Maker. He even put the name of the store he worked at in his post. When he was called out that I was going to e-mail the company to let them know of his bad practices and also potentially taking sales out of their pockets, he edited his post to take out the name of the business he worked for. Later when I told him that I had e-mailed the president of L & Q and he e-mailed me back telling me thanks, the OP deleted his post entirely and later the whole thread was gone. Yeah, he knew that he {censored}ed that old guy and was trying to save his sorry ass job!
  10. I used to know this rich asshole who was always bragging about how expensive all his guitars were. So one night while he was in the Bahamas or something I broke in and stole a few. I took a {censored} on his couch before I left and went and gave the guitars to some homeless people to jam on. Although the Robin Hoodian concept is one to be admired in theory, as one who has had a guitar stolen from them, I still see you as a {censored}ing thief plain and simple and you deserve to be beaten or in prison being raped as someone's bitch.
  11. Planet Waves SOS Strobe Pick Tuner is pretty good. I got mine free with a multipack set of D'addario strings few years back, wonder if that deal is still on. Same here. Got mine with a 5-pack of D'Addario acoustic strings. I use it mostly for acoustic and keep it with me in the pocket if I'm out somewhere and need quick tuning. It works very well and you can see the laser lights clearly.
  12. Alright Schtang, you really got my juices flowing now. I've said all along that my first Gibby was going to be a 56' Goldtop but I think it's going to be this: I just sent them an e-mail to see what kind of deal they would work with me on it. That emerald is just too smokin' hot to turn away from. There's definitely going to be some splainin' to do to the wife pretty soon.
  13. I'd hit the Emerald easily. It looks closer to black in that pic. I'd love to have one of those BTW. P-90's FTW!
  14. 80's Carvin LB70 bass, cheap Sonica acoustic, 70's Epi BARD 12-string, 70's Harmony Strat copy (refin'd/modded), Agile AS820 w/ Seth Lovers, 99' Epi Custom Flametop LP w/ SD 59' & Jazz PU's (Jimmy Page mod in the electronics) 83' Ibanez RS335 Roadstar II 78' Cortez J-200 Squier Vintage Modified ThinlineTelecaster w/ "Muy Grande" bridge PU (soon to have a TV Jones Filtertron in the neck and a new pickguard.
