  1. I was going to start a new thread when I ran across this jewel of a thread--looks like it needed a revival anyway. Actually need some advice on if it's time to get a restraining order or something! We started playing a new venue in a town about 25 miles from 'home base' about a year ago or so. We play there once every other month or so. Since the first show there have been a group of girls that come see us every time we play there. Seems like a cool group, we all know each other's names and treat each other like friends. A few shows in, one of them asks if I'm married...now I know she was asking for one of the others--I said yes (I don't wear my ring because it's uncomfortable to play with it on--not because I want attention...my wife knows and is ok with it). That was that. A few shows later we were tearing down and one of my band mates said 'man, did you hear her?'. 'I heard her tell her friend 'I wish he wasn't married, I'd take him home and (you know) right now.' Thought he was joking so didn't pay much attention to it. Most shows since then this girl just talks to me like a normal friend...what's up, how are you, learn any new songs, etc. Well this past Saturday we're playing again, and the conversation is WAY different. Few different conversations throughout the night, each one progressively more 'forward'. 1st break starts off with the normal how are ya/what have you been up to talk. Somewhere in there she starts asking about what time we get done packing up. 2nd break comes around and I ask how everything is sounding, and I get a bunch of fluff about 'great, but I'm really only paying attention to you'--goes on until we go back on stage. By the end of the night she's talking about taking me home, she'll give me a ride back tomorrow. I explain it's my gear, my truck, and everyone rode with me. Then I get 'well come with me real quick, it'll only take a few minutes'. WTF. THIS goes on a bit longer while I'm trying to pack up cables...I'm looking for an out, trying to get one of the guys to bail me out of this. Finally one of them says to me (with her right there)...'go ahead, but I don't think your wife will like it'. THANK YOU! Figured that did the trick, but instead I get a 'that's ok, I can keep a secret'. Finally her friends come get her and take her home. Ugh. This kind of thing never happened when I was single, and as flattering as it is I don't really care for that kind of attention when I'm married. Up until now she's been just a regular friend that shows up at gigs, but WAY overboard this last time. Kinda scared what the next gig brings.
  2. Go rent 'Used Cars' then report back. Here's a snippet: [video=youtube;ZQiTRQTiMGY]
