  1. Checking in. December 2022. Been busy collecting guitars. Not playing much.
  2. Stopping by to say hi. Have'nt been around for awhile. How are you Phil?
  3. Hello Guys, Just got my first Les Paul. A 1973 Les Paul Deluxe. Got it for a good price and had it checked out. It is in really good shape for 73. Now I am bitten by the bug. I am really new to Gibson's so I don't know a lot about the difference models. I would like to get a few good vintage pieces to pass on to my son. where should I start looking? Not really looking for goldtops or specialty Les Pauls. Thx.
  4. I am going tomorrow to test both amps. Which overdrive/distortion pedal should I bring to test with? Thx
  5. Thank you DaddyMack. It certainly gives me more to work with. I usually like to play with thinner necks. I have small hands. I have an Ibanez with a wizard neck that is very comfortable to play. I also just recently got a PRS 408 which plays like butter. So, I am partial to the 60s neck. As far as pickups, I am a little weak in that department. I am looking for the classic rock sound. My favorites would be Gary Moore, Robbie Roberson, Scott Gorham, Tom Scholz, and Mick Jones.
  6. Is there any particular era I should stay away from?
  7. Ok. Looking for a Gibson, Humbuckers. Standard? (What is a traditional Les Paul?)
  8. Hello Everyone. I am looking to purchase a Les Paul, new or used. I am looking for a player, not necessarily a collector and something that will not break the bank. I like to play 70 and 80 rock and big into Nightwish and symphonic metal. Not stuck on a particular finish either but do like the cherry burst, lemon drop burst and iced tea burst. Thanks.
  9. Back after being gone for about a year. The whole COVID just messed everything up. You would think being home for a year and a half that I would be on all the time.
  10. I just got the EHX Deluxe Memory Boy. I really like it a lot. Some people say that it is a little dark but that is what I like about it. I also have the TC Electronic Nova Delay which is analog with digital controls. I just wish it had MIDI.
  11. Hello Everyone. It has been a couple of years since I have been here. I have been on this forum for about 15 years. I am glad to see that there are more people here.
  12. Original Jackson Randy Rhodes model in all black. Sold it so that I could get a Marshall 50w combo. Never bought the combo. An Original DR-103 half stack. Guy was heading back to Berlin and couldn't take it with him. Was willing to trade for some Boss pedals. Cant remember the reason why didn't do the try but it was probably pretty stupid. Oh well!
  13. Hi Phil, been out for awhile but still hanging around.
