  1. that is freaking awesome, love those GT-40's How did you create that? Is that some kind of 3-d modeling software? Thanks. Yes, I used 3D modeling for the parts, photoshop for the graphics and a 3D renderer for the final renders. It's rough in spots and the top is flat but for not having worked with a 3D modelling program in about 10 years I was happy with the results.
  2. The (concept) guitars name is F'log and I don't give 2 shits if someone else doesn't approve of the naming.
  3. Are you having trouble viewing the photo's in this thread? If so,you may need to clear the cache in your browser. nope, just the pic in your initial post. all others are viewable.
  4. Neither is mine, and it has block inlays, not dots. I don't know what fu2jobu is talking about, and apparently he doesn't either. I already conceded that the online store pictures made them look like flat tops. There are a few studio versions with dot inlays. Get with the times and try a search engine or an online store. :poke:
  5. I stopped by my local shop before the snow storm hit and all the Studio's did indeed have a Carved/Curved top. So they just look flat in the pictures.
  6. All actual studios have a carved top and trap inlays. So these aren't real Studios? Maybe the pic in the Sam Ash one just looks like a flat top? http://www.samash.com/p/Les%20Paul%20Studio%20Electric%20Guitar%20Assorted%20Colors_817465 http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibson-Les-Paul-Studio-Raw-Power-Electric-Guitar-582135-i1516800.gc http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibson-Les-Paul-Swamp-Ash-Studio-Electric-Guitar-102089893-i1149451.gc
  7. Maybe you're thinking of the Les Paul Specials? I looked online at Guitar Center and Sam Ash as well as visiting a local store. Don't recall seeing any with all 3. Do you have a link to one online that has all 3? Really looking for a Goldtop which would mean 4 things - Curved top, Normal Inlays, Bindiing & Goldtop.
  8. Hmm, my winered Studio is definitely not flat top Yeah some are not flat tops, some have regular inlays and some have binding. Finding one with all 3 is what I found hard. For now I am happy with the EPI, if the bug bites me again maybe I will eventually find a studio with all 3.
  9. The things I don't like about the LP studios are a flat top, no binding and dot inlays don't look good to me (though some have normal inlays). That being said I don't think those features are worth the extra $$ for a Gibson LP. So I cheaped out and got an Epiphone when I wanted a Gibson. I would have gone for the Goldtop Studio Raw Power if only it had normal inlays instead of dots.
  10. Why bother... It's the Grammy's what do you expect? The gave Best Rock Vocal Performance to Lenny Karavitz 4 years running. I dig some of Lenny's music but Best Vocal Performance doesn't enter ones mind when listening to him.
