Thanks guys, when i am recording with my band we usually can track the bass all in one take, but everyone else seems to have trouble getting the song perfect in one try all the way through

So im wondering with pro tools 8 is it best to record just parts of song (ie. chorus verse bridge) then mix them all together or is it better to record the entire song straight though then mix the tracks. All this is for a rock n roll band... not electronic
