T J Shaw is a top graduate and ex-tutor from a leading U.K. Drum College, the Academy of Contemporary Music, The Rodboro Buildings, Bridge Street, Guildford, Surrey.

He has over 25 years playing experience and has been taught by some of the world’s leading drum teachers and drumming professionals.

He holds a Higher Diploma in Contemporary Music (Distinction with Hons) in Drums from the A.C.M. (www.acm.ac.uk).

In addition to his playing experience throughout the United Kingdom (in Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, Berkshire and South Yorkshire), the author has many years experience as a drum instructor (including six months at the Academy of Contemporary Music).

The author has received drum tuition from some of the best drum educators and players in the world inc: Neil Wilkinson (Everything But The Girl; Joan Armatrading; LA Sessions and Sir Paul McCartney.); Pete Riley (Jan Cyrka; currently UK Britpop act Republica; drum tutor ACM.); James Porter (former head of drums at ACM) and Laurence Hall (Player, Former Tutor at the ACM and Teacher at the Holistic Drum Agency. Author of ‘The Outer Limits’).

The author has also received masterclasses from great players such as: the very cool Steve White (currently Paul Weller and Educator); Greg Bissonette (US Drums master and all-round top bloke!
