I guess what it comes down to is you either love the 70's LP's or you hate them. Sure the new Customs have improved alot since the 70's but I still think my 76 is by far the best damn playing LP I have ever owned. As far as sound goes my 05 Les Paul Classic is my favorite sounding LP. However its much hotter than my 76. Either way both are great guitars. Sorry for Hijacking this thread. I really comes down to a matter of opinion. Typically if a 70's LP has been around for this long its likley its a pretty good guitar. However there is always the exception to every rule.

I will agree that I got a good deal as far as the value is concerned. However this thing plays way better than my 08 Standard did. Of course my Standard did have way nicer options, and it also sounded a little nicer to be honest but man does this 76 play amazing. Everyone can bash 70's Gibsons all they want but no matter how you look at it this is a great guitar. Anyways I would have made this trade again a heartbeat. Sure my standard sounded better but this 76 sounds pretty damn nice too. I had no luck selling my 08 LP except for low ballers. I don't even think ebay was gonna get me 1800 dollars but I never let the auction finish to find out.

I shipped this guy a guitar and it got there today. I hope its not {censored}ed up Just do us all a favor if its {censored}ed up submit a claim with the shipping company. Even if it takes months to resolve they should give you some sort of proof. Oh wait you probably didn't send a damaged guitar I think you will most likely be fine.

This thread has become funny as hell. I mean what does the name of a member have to do with his ability to make a deal? Sad enough to say no matter what kind of music you listen to not everyone knows who Dimebag is. Speaking of which I haven't heard any Pantera in a couple of years now. Oh a I suppose I probably wouldn't make a deal with a member if they had a name like grandtheftguitar or something like that.

There are 2 sides to every story I find it odd that there are no pictures of the damage, but I also find it odd the other guy wouldn't even try to defend himself. Either way I would be certain to never trade with either of these guys until I at least saw some proof meaning the pictures. But then again why would the guy lie about getting a damaged guitar? I guess we may never really know?

yeah but all the people who I have seen get ripped off lately were by members with alot of posts. I have traded with members who have low post counts sucessfully without any problems so far. I always get a valid email address, and a phone number, also I only deal with paypal and would never send payment as a gift. So far I have not had problems here. I have more problems buying off of ebay with people selling broken crap, misrepresenting items, and price jacking by having there friends bid on items they are selling. although it appears this forum is full of dirtbags that misrepresent {censored} or never send it. Recently it seems alot of people have been ripped off.

Well I find this whole situation very interesting. You have a guy who has been asked several times by people to show some pictures of the damage and doesn't do so. (Not that he should have to but I still find it odd?) And then of course you have another person who seems to care less that a whole thread has been devoted to him for screwing another member over. I still can't believe he never said anything about it. To be honest I will never do a deal with dime and I hope he goes down as someone to never do trades with just like all the other idiots out there that I will never trade with. If I was one of these guys and had ripped someone off I would just open a new account and start over. So really this whole {censored} is pointless if you think about it. Never trade with IndianScout, Aporcilansky, and alot of others I am sure.

I wouldn't mind seeing some pics of the damage to the explorer either? I would be interested in doing a possible trade depending on the damage. Some good pics would be awesome.

Good point I guess it all falls back on the seller. As you are correct he would have to file a claim, but it sounded like UPS might have packaged it??? Then again we may never find out since we have only heard one side of the story. If I was dime I would want share my take on things but apparently he isn't very concerned about his reputation here or he would have already taken care of this. To be honest I am glad I never did any deals with him. Its a shame that to many people out there are dishonest or don't want to don't want to work with you when there is an issue. Best of luck getting your money back or at least something from this whole ordeal.

Either way this poor guy still got screwed over. Whether it was UPS's fault or the senders it still suck. I hope he gets this taken care. Although I would still like to see some pictures of the guitar to show how bad the damage really is. I mean if your gonna trash another guys reputation here some pictures of the guitar would be nice to see. Although I don't think it really much matters I guess since the guy who sent the guitar obviously doesn't seem to concerned.

Paypal sucks. I hate them. I only use them because they are a necessary evil. I recently had over 900 dollars stolen from my paypal account. They are terrible. There customer service sucks, I have done multilple purchases with paypal in which I got screwed and nothing ever got resolved? To be honest I am not really sure why I even use them other than the fact that its easy and everyone requests it. If you contacted the seller and you can verify he was online and got your messages then he must know what he did and chances are you just got screwed. If I was you I would contact UPS and Paypal and tell them you want to dispute the shipping as it was damaged and the purchase of the guitar. I am not sure it will do anygood but I would at least try. It really sucks to get screwed. I hope I speak for everyone here when I say I will never trade or buy from a guy who has screwed someone over like this if I know about it and if the issue is never resolved with any good reasoning.

Can't anybody do there Job anymore? The world has turned into a bunch of lazy idiots. You can't trust UPS to ship stuff, You can't use Fed Ex, The post office sucks. What is one to do? I have had problems with the post office and UPS in the past. Believe it or not though I think UPS does a way better job than the post office. I get other peoples mail all the time, I have had mail lost, and I have even had it take 2 months to mail something less than 30 miles? As far as UPS goes they throw boxes around, leave them in the bushes, drop {censored}, etc. They don't give a rats ass about any of us. The new theme for UPS should be "we drop {censored}". Instead of we drop ship. I tried to file a claim once for a guitar I bought but it ended up being such a nightmare that I just ended up spending several hundred dollars to fix the guitar and ended up eating it because neither UPS or the other party wanted to make the situation right. I tell ya a person's word doesn't mean anything anymore. It's no wonder the world will most likely be wiped out in the next 100 years or less. I guess that what happens when to many idiots are allowed to reproduce.
