I think eBay is less attractive today because many of the big retailers (MF, M123, etc) are reducing the prices of new items below the selling benchmark prices on eBay. For instance, I recently bought a Holy Grail Reverb Plus (retails for $149 on MF) on sale from MF for about 40 % less than I could have got it on eBay (I paid $89.00 at MF on one of their sales with free shipping). OP, you are correct also, that many of these pedals are Buy it Now only. As retailers continue to slash prices, I expect eBayers will have a tough time turning over inventory, especially when I can get a new item with a *guaranteed* warranty on MF, M123, or etc for a cheaper price than a supposedly new or like new item on eBay.. Even though eBay has protection mechanisms in place to protect the consumer, its still a gamble on eBay. For me, if the price is good enough, its worth the gamble. However, in the current recession, when MF and M123 are cheaper options, eBay will have to wait... Just my two cents worth..
