I tend to agree, though there are a few exceptions. The Super Champ XD really does sound quite nice (though I really don't think the tube does anything particularly meaningful here. Nothing that a well crafted solid state preamp couldn't provide anyway) And I actually enjoy the Flextone III. The models are entirely convincing enough to make it a worthy backup amp at the least
