  1. I like the pixies now. God damn it! I like the Pixies even more now than I did then, because we need them more than we needed them back then. What we need is whoever the young morons of today get that old dipshits like me don't get, who will be the next[ Pixies. Because when my antique ass can listen to that song and think, "I haven't head a song that good in 20 years", rock and roll is in a sad, sad state.
  2. And because these irrelevant assholes from 20+ years ago never made a kid want to pick up a guitar and yell about his thoughts and emotions, let's ignore the fuck out of them, too! [video=youtube;RTWSSCYUD4E]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTWSSCYUD4E&feature=youtu.be
  3. This song is almost 30 years old, so of course HCEG will embrace it without question: [video=youtube;RZ1RecSXXZ8]
  4. Haha, very true. This forums does seem to be dominated by old guys who are very set in their way and who seem to think that any music that isnt more than 30 years old is automatically crap. That said, I wouldnt say that this forum has changed my tastes but it sure has introduced me to a lot of great stuff that I wouldnt have discovered or listened to otherwise: Black Sabbath Randy Rhoads Hendrix Iron Maiden Paul Gilbert Dethklok (really) and of course, Sleigh Bells I'm almost 40 and all of those artists except for Sleigh Bells are ancient history to me.
  5. I've been kind of wondering...does this community broaden your musical horizons? Yes, it's taught me that anything that isn't Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, or fake-ass white middle-class "blues" is worthy of nothing but scorn and ridicule, that all the good music was either made in the 1960s or early 1970s or made by artists that never grew out of that era, and that the desire to listen to something more interesting or relevant is a malady that can only be cured by buying more expensive guitars.
  6. I'd definitely have to say guitars, with amps being a close second.
  7. I don't think I would have even noticed the pickup rings if you hadn't pointed them out. What looks weird to me is the hideous used chewing gum/bandaid/80s computer color of the pickups themselves.
  8. I bet if Jimi was alive he'd be using some form of modeler. He'd be using modeling amps, modeling guitars, digital effects, MIDI, Floyd Roses, self-tuning robot guitars, and every other bit of innovative musical technology that cranky Hendrix traditionalists have been complaining about for the last 40 years. And he'd be on Twitter.
