He's just being a contrarian. It's quite childish, really. In his mind, he's saying "don't cry over spilled milk"; trying to make the point that Tom can go out and buy more. His superiority complex tells him that to acknowledge a sentimental attachment to an inanimate object is stupid, which of course, it isn't. For example: my most sentimental guitar is my first, given to me by my dad from his own personal collection. I can't express the sense of elation and pride I felt when I finished restoring it a few months ago. I'd never consider selling it, and if anything were to happen to it I would be devastated. I don't really care if he has the money to buy whatever he wants. He's just a cool and humble guy with a ton of talent that has helped many people along the journey. I've got a lot of respect for Tom. +1 Tom's still a human being. I have a couple guitars that I consider to be irreplaceable due to their sentimental value. Tom and his band have as much right as anyone to feel slighted, regardless of their wealth and success. u cant take em with u, bra.
