I've got one mahogany and one dao wood. If you've count every acoustic I've ever owned and my wife's guitar, then maple would win, because then there would be a flame maple and a spalted maple with some flaming.
The little ones have dropped change, small toys, sand, even apple juice and once a fork (an actual piece of silverware, not a kiddie fork.)
Something I'll have to remember to watch out for when I have kids.
Solid wood is considered a strong selling point, so if something is solid they manufacturer won't hesitate to tell you. If it doesn't say solid then it is 99.9% likely that it is laminate.
