Damn. Well congrats. wished I had one.

There might be something to this. Seriously. Kinda like the pencil in front of a mic for de-essing. Give it a shot someday. You never know.

Have you tried it with a bad mix?

I use a shure beta 87A condenser. But most I know is it's better than the sm57 I have, so there may be better.

Aw give them a call. They don't answer email or forum questions but I guess they got the phone thing wired now. Wish they did a year ago. I still have the old updated firebox driver on my PC. Tried to remove it but I guess they forgot to put a uninstall file on that driver. I know cause I tried to reinstall everything to see if I get better luck that way. I can remove it manually if I search win explorer and delete folder but heard that's a little iffy. All I know is I couldn't get anyone to help me to save my life. But give them a call.

So they answer their phones? I called twice a year ago and don't rememebr an option of being on hold. Just leave a message. Maybe they changed their phone menu like they did their forums.

Had the same problem when I bought the firebox over a year ago. Whether it's their forums, or tech support, their response time has two speeds: Slow & Stop. They will contact you though. They did me a little over 3 weeks later. By that time I already returned the Firebox.

I've had the same problem recording direct with the Boss GT-8. There's something about recording direct with these digital modelers, and it's the gain... whether distortion or amp modeling. There was no way for me to fix it except (besides using an amp) only use these MFXs for effects only, and use a analog distortion/overdrive pedal that has a direct out, or a direct box.

All I do is direct recording. I use damage control pedals for this. Very, very warm sound. Still trying to hook up my firebox cubase setup, but I know a guy who does the same as me. Play the song 'Through the Storm' here... http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=772463&content=music ... he is using a Womanizer --> Glass Nexus --> direct into a sound board.

Then she would kill if she saw mine! Most likely lol. I tried to tell her this is nothing compared to many but she ain't going for it.
