  1. ^^ The Gibson capacitor is a fine candidate for this award. I also saw an acoustic strap from them that was selling for 130 bucks on amazon. Luckily, the acoustic doesn't need capacitors.
  2. I think the Hall of Fame increase was the worst. I mean, the fees are up like 40% from last year. I never quite got why noobs and regular members get free or cheap membership, and HOF'ers get screwed.
  3. Yeah, the selling market sucks. It is a mix of extreme low ball offers from people who assume you HAVE to sell something and people who want to buy something in trade for crazy things. The last trade offer I got on a mint ibanez MIJ 7 string was for comic books, a paintball gun, and 20-30 used car batteries. WTF. I guess you were lucky to get any money at all, and at least you were smart enough to set a reserve.
  4. Yeah, the advice in the first few posts is exactly what you should do. Everything needs to be set up, stretched, and then tuned to pitch, lock the strings tight at the nut, then use the fine tuners to get it perfect. It should be stable at that point. Just remember when tuning with the headstock tuners before you lock to give yourself some travel on the fine tuners, in general the guitar will go sharp when you lock the nut down tight, and you need enough travel on the fine tuners to compensate.

Looks like cheap Chinese knock off crap to me.
  6. I guess you got tired of trolling GJ and thought you would come over here??? You have to pick a more original topic to sneak by these guys.
  7. I like plain tops and flame tops. I kind of favor a nice flame top over a plain top, but it kind of depends on the guitar it is glued to. Here is my current LP, which happens to have a flame top.
  8. Is that really an Agile? Dang! Nah, that is a photoshopped copy of the book "The Beauty of the Burst". That is a real vintage flame top LP.
  9. Most of the ads I see when searching for stuff are ebay stores selling the items for what I can get them for locally or at other online stores. I was just looking for a set of cymbals, and there were 90 listings from stores, all within like 10 bucks of each other (and guitar center), and two listings for used cymbals from private parties. Ebay needs to decide if they want to be an auction house or amazon.com.
  10. i didn't know you had a Jem?! Yep. A 1987 Jem7RB. It is shredtastic.
  11. This black ibanez roadster II was my first real guitar. I bought it new in 1986, and I still play it to this day. Really a great guitar.
  12. I've had good experiences with CTS, Bourns, and Dimarzio over the years. Can't say as I noticed much difference between brands in terms of sound (if the same spec), but all of these brands have been reliable for me.
