  1. For a natural sound...I like my Bose ...gets nothing but compliments. A number of 3-4 piece bands in the Tampa are use them in conjunction with other equipment. I also use my Crate Durango Acoustic Amp....has DSP built in and two channels with dual mic and guitar inputs...sounds very natural and TONS of power. They list around $599. Negatives....heavy to lug around...the Bose is a fraction of the weight. I have used both....the bose for vocals only and the Crate to overcome a loud bar/large area venue.

  3. Guild D40 (used made in Westerly plant) Gibson LG3 (1950's-1962) Gibson J45 ( as old as money allows) Gibson Nick Lucas Model (90 remakes are nice) Guild D55 (all plants except Corona) Guild D25 1975-85 (Westerly plant) Martin D series including the 16's Yamaha "L" series
  4. I could see simple fret markers, especially if they have them for the neck, not the fret board.

I used to hide a $20 dollar bill......No one could find it but me, and it was a lot closer than the bank.
  6. Yes, I do know! I've seen 'em a few times and I'm a big fan, but their live shows just don't excite me anymore. Poco was in Ybor a week or so ago. I really love those guys. I missed the show but heard the sound system was awful. When I last saw them a couple years ago in Largo they were very fine. I'm a huge Poco fan, but somehow missed them...holy crap. I need to keep an eye out for them.....heck, I didn't even know they still toured....are they still the original band? Speaking of Ybor, I go to Ybor all the time, but not to hear bands. Most of the 7th street nightclubs suck, even St. Pete Times Forum stinks. The Ford Theatre is ok, and the Fine Arts and Ruth Ekhardt, but most places have horrible sound. Skippers is good, but they don't have the big groups, doesn't hold enough people.....Oh yeah, the Orpheum gets ok talent from time to time, but again, a really small (indoor) place.
  7. My son was Born in Dunnedin. Meese hospital comes to mind, but it has been some time. I used to live in New Port Richey. Saw Led Zepplin at Tampa Stadium in 72. Daughter still lives in NPR. I'll get down there one of these days, and we will all have to get together. You do know the CSN is coming to St. Pete...22nd this month.
  8. Hey, noticed you are in Dunedin! Hello neighbor....up for a Redhead Red sometime? Dunedin is really a nice town, I hang there a couple of times a month. Have you been to JC Cravers down the road? My buddy Damon Fowler will be playing there again October 9th......got to see this guy if you don't already know him......no excuse either, he'll be about 3 miles from you......check it out.
  9. Lucky guy.....post the pics......you can never see enough J45's. J45's can be more than special guitars. I'm still searching for mine. When I find it, I really won't care what it costs. It will be at least as old as I am...so lets just say early 50's or before.
  10. Interesting story really. About 20 years ago my father found a guitar in a dumpster in Camden NJ. Besides having a few scratches, and missing strings, the guitar was in good shape. So he brought it home, polished it up and put new strings on and was shocked at how good this guitar sounded. It's a Carlos. If you peak inside it says "Carlos" in big letters on the top label, "Model No." which is blank, and "Quality Product of Korea" lastly. I still play it today - it's really remarkable how beautiful this thing sounds for being a no-name brand. Cheers Looks like a clone of a Guild D25.
  11. Riffmeister....Does that mean we can put this to bed?
  12. If not for the internet site hype, it would just be another guitar for sale in a sea of guitars under $800. Worth the money? Probably not. A usuable guitar? Absolutely. Would I buy one? No.
