  1. To each's own. For its price, I would still choose a vintage Twin Reverb, a Marshall Plexi, a Marshall JCM800 and a Roadster... all used. They can cover all the tones of a Herbert. Scalable Volume is not much an issue for me. But the Herbie is still great in itself.
  2. Now how can DSD compare in getting that WARMTH we all take about? Would the more number of samples enable more sidebands in the spectra of the reproduced signals, hence making it more capable of emulating TAPE WARMTH?

  4. It's no sin to be ignorant or incompetent. But it's a real problem when the ignorant and incompetent set themselves up as gurus and experts -- one doesn't have to look far to see the disastrous consequences, they're all around us, these days. Anyhow, topping off ignorance and apparent incompetence with arrogance and vulgar insults... that's a sign of someone who is going to have some serious problems getting along with those he might like to consider his peers and colleagues. Maybe we should have some compassion for this guy. It seems likely he's going to have a very lonely professional life. The 6 most dangerous words in life: "All you have to do is..." I'd take a total newbie with stupid questions over a stupid person who doesn't wanna call himself a newbie. And it is obvious that this guy has no {censored}ing idea what MASTERING is all about. Just for the record mr. htaed, have you ever read a book about mastering and WHAT IT REALLY IS? You can "finalize" your own work if you want to but I would bet a competent mastering engineer in a top mastering studio will eat your most-prized "pseudo-mastered" mix.
