  1. now now Doc, don't be jealous. Just cause that sexy strat decided to share a bed with him instead of with you is no reason to hate the man. :poke:
  2. His answers made me laugh out loud. there was another part of that interview where he essentially say's that jessica simpson was amazing in bed and he couldn't get enough. I am not afraid to say out loud JOHN MAYER IS MY IDOL
  3. Maybe you're thinking of the Les Paul Specials? Yeah, he's thinking about specials. Les paul studios are almost identical to standards only minus the binding and flame tops. But all Studio's are carved tops. anyways. I've owned a few studio's and they are fantastic guitars. And my Hwy 1 tele is my favourite guitar in the world.
  4. I always anchor my pinky when i'm picking anything with a pick. strumming no, fingerpicking definitely no. Bad technique or not, that's where my hands go automatically. I'm a fan of the outlook that nothing is sacred about playing music, there are no rights or wrongs, simply what works and what doesn't. and even then that is up to the listeners ear to decide.
  5. a little of both, actually...i have a great rapport with my local dealer, who ordered this one special for me they told me it has an ash body, not enough of an expert to say by looking at it...was going to email fender on monday and have them send me the spec sheet to verify it Yup it's Ash, all of the sienna bursts are, that's why they are a bit more expensive than the other standards. HNGD
  6. Just remember, a car can take you to and from work, and going to and from work means that you get a paycheck, and if you get a paycheck, you get to spend it on things...... see where I'm going with this?
  7. I like both, but I really prefer plain tops. though I can't stand quilts
  8. Wow, and now this thread has gone a bit out of hand. I was there for the first thread and as I said before. The big issue of the first thread was that he had the balls to come on here and expect us all to cheer him on for his accomplishment. secondly, I brought up in the original thread why he didn't just tell the guy to go to a vintage guitar retailer such as 12th fret, mojo music, capsule, etc., and he said that they HAVE sent people in the past to 12th fret, in fact there was a guy asking a few hundred bucks for an old LP that is currently in 12th fret's store hanging for around 12,000.00.................. So he knew that sending people with vintage gear that knew nothing about what they had to an actual retailer that would take care of them was the right thing to do. In this case he did not do that, he did the opposite and decieved an old man and got a new guitar out of it.
  9. The sharp fret ends were made to release the tone in your blood. It's rather magical actually
  10. It only starts getting weird when a guitar with a very toppy tone and no bass response is made from basswood. Then a black hole of irony opens up and sucks you and the guitar through it into a lovely land where everything looks like a tele but sounds like a 12 string bass.
  11. I was in on that thread when it happened, and in all honesty I think the big thing that made people go ape s*&t on that guy wasn't just the fact that he and his friend misrepresented the guitars value. It was the shear notion that he thought he could polish it up and post on here about his accomplishment and show off his new guitar, and that he expected us to praise him and shower him with happy new guitar day rhetoric.
  12. So what your telling me is that Clapton should have won an award for an album full of cover songs? The dude can play guitar like a mofo, but I really don't think he's done anything relevant since around the 80's
