  1. I've never had anything stolen from me but I have been accused of stealing a bass. When I was in high school I play with my church praise group at a teen mass, I'd switch between using either my guitar or a crappy Cort bass the church had. One day the bass disappears and I start getting phone calls from the music director about it's whereabouts (I had brought it home a few times to practice) They never could get any evidence that I took it (seeing as how I didn't) but I always got dirty looks from the music director every time she saw me. I guess I might be able to consider my PA system 'stolen'. My entire high school band chipped in and bought it for rehearsals which were held at my place. Once the band broke up after high school we all went our separate ways and I wound up with the PA in my possession that I now use for my current bands. None of the other guys do anything musical anymore and probably haven't thought about it in years.
  2. Yeah, that's cool and I do see some smaller stuff like yours roll across the block. But what did you stand to lose if it stalled....15-20 bucks maybe? I'm talking more about high end or vintage gear though. The sellers just seem to be scared to run a legit auction anymore..... I know what youre talking about, I've never bought or sold any high dollar items on there before, but I'm GASing for a double cut LP really bad and was checking out some auctions today and there really wernt any going for a good price. They were mostly buy it now or had really high reserves. I'll probably just hold out till I find a forumite that has one up for sale in a few months.
  3. I just sold a EMG 81 on there for 56 bucks....I only paid $50 for it four years ago new so I was happy about that! It was an auction, I think I started it at $20.
  4. I'd slap my name on a G&L ASAT tribute model. Offer it in a natural finish, blue, green and sunbursts. Maple fretboard, chrome hardware, single coil bridge and a duncan P-rails in the neck. I figure that would be an instrument that was affordable to the everyday musician, offer a wide degree of sonic possibilities, and one I'd be happy to take on stage myself!
  5. There's a certain point where negotiations start and I've always viewed that as about 70% of the starting offer. You went 50%, I would view that as someone trying to lowball me and scam me out of my guitar and would probably take offense to it as well. I'd say $100 would have been a better starting point for you, at least keep it in the triple digits.
  6. Come on Mazi I rock!!! I've been rocking it on HC for over 2 years now!!!!
