While I generally agree with this, this post seems to be a little extreme. If someone offered to help me with math and then told me that 2+2 = 5, I would just ignore him. But, if he then said that all other mathematicians are stupid, I would probably bash him too.
I think the biggest problem people are having isn't his advice, but more for his disrepect for other mastering engineers.
And quite possibly the fact that some young guns might actually listen and BELIEVE that 2+2=5. That's the part that scares me. There are new people here everyday that actually listen like we know what we are talking about I thought I was pretty decent at mastering until I let a friend of mine master something that we recorded. He is a pretty well known Hip Hop ME and I was humbled to the point that I don't even consider what I was doing should be called mastering. It is an art and a science. It takes a scientific artist to sit down and get truly "professional" results. The gear make a difference also. Plug ins are nice but they can't replace a rackmount Avalon.
