  1. Probably this one. I like Fenders, passive pickups and bright colors, but this might be the only guitar I've ever really missed.

  3. CLEARING OUT SOME STUFF: Boss DD-3 - $70 shipped - Mint, no box. Makes echo sounds, not sure what the whole 'delay' thing is about. Boss CS-3 - $50 shipped - Mint, no box. Compresses things in an adequate fashion. (Not pictured.) FS: Gibson All American II - $400 shipped CONUS Up next is my Gibson All American II. It's a '94 model, near as I can tell, and a truly dynamite guitar. These are pretty uncommon and admittedly kind of funky, but whether you're into offbeat Gibsons or just want a quality guitar at a bargain price, I have a feeling this one's going to make its next owner very happy. More photos here. As you can see, it has its fair share of nicks and dings - all pictured - but the bones of the guitar are rock solid. Plays great with a fresh setup and strings; no sharp fret ends, no fret wear, no buzzes or rattles, and the trem holds tune like a rock. Plus, it sounds like a really big, really angry Telecaster; I'd say it even gets into Junior territory. FS: OLP/Musicman MM1F Axis - $300 shipped Hi! I've finally (and reluctantly) decided to sell my OLP/Musicman MM1F; it's a great guitar in excellent condition, and I'm sure it's going to make somebody seriously happy. This is one of the rare later models with a solid maple top, Rockfield Mafia pickups and an Original Floyd Rose, and the quality really, really defies the price point. Great frets, low action, no buzzes and a lightning-fast satin neck - more girth than most shredders, and I love that. Amazingly rockin' EVH sounds out of the bridge pickup, great cleans out of the neck and center positions, and a metric boatload of sustain all around. Of course, if you're interested in seeing more photos, you can get them here. Anyway, that's about it for the schtick. Prices are OBO within reason, and while I'll consider trades, cash is indeed king. I'm glad to answer any questions, provide more pictures, give references or a phone number, pretty much anything to put a potential buyer at ease. Just feel free to message me, and we'll go from there. Thanks for looking! Jason
  4. Say what you will about Mayer, but HC and TGP practically light up whenever he says or does something even slightly controversial. After watching some of his earlier more comedic vids, I'm pretty sure John Mayer is just a really good troll. Also, relics are awesome and sound better than their vintage counterparts.
  5. Nah, no reason to be so dramatic. I've got a decent job, and I just play music for fun; if it's not fun, I play less of it. I mean, if you really want to keep playing music, take a minute to figure out what exactly would bring you joy. If not (or if you can't find an answer), don't put so much pressure on yourself. As an example, here's my story from the past six months. Back in December, my original band broke up. Bummer. Soon after, my acoustic duo started taking off. The acoustic duo turned into a full funk/pop band, and I picked up bass for that; then I saw a really inspiring original act in need of a bass player, and was lucky enough to join up with them. The acoustic duo band is getting ready to disband at the end of May - people are moving. At the same time, I've found some guys to help me re-form my original band. All the while, I've been working on writing for a project with the girlfriend. It's just a cycle, and you'll find what you're looking for if you let it find you as well - no reason for drama or hard feelings. Regarding selling off your gear, I say you should never be afraid to sell. It's just stuff, and if you feel like it's unnecessary, there's no reason to hoard it. I've bought and sold tons of gear, and almost all of it could be easily acquired again; if not, there's plenty of gear out there that I haven't tried.
  6. What kind of guitar? String trees? How's the string height at that particular slot? It could be a few things, but if everything's in order otherwise, the slot may just need to be worked/smoothed out a little.
  7. I looked for a Ric 650D for ages before just ponying up the money to buy/try. Loved the build, didn't love the sound.
  8. Alternatively, this: Oh yes I did.
  9. You can pay top dollar for a hideous headstock! i don't even get why companies that manufacture strat-a-likes from cheap to boutique attempt some vaguely stratty headstock. it will always look like a shit version of a fender headstock. just come up with something else that suits the strat body style. even a 3-a-side would like good Amen, brother. An aesthetic blunder on an otherwise beautiful guitar, even if not to my taste.
  10. I feel like I've named a few of my guitars in the past, but they never stick. I think my Peavey was Loretta at some point, but it usually defaults to "the Peavey."
  11. Flipping guitars and making money from it requires a huge time investment. Being at the right place at the right time, all the time, with the right knowledge ... takes a lot of time. You might consistently make more money at a student job. Definitely. I'm good at flipping guitars - God knows I do it enough - but rare is the occasion where it's actually worth your time.
  12. Try some rubbing alcohol on the fingertips to speed up the hardening process; it never did a whole lot for me, but some swear by it. I'm blessed with hard fingertips.
  13. I do not. Never really had a reason to do so.
