I am wondering if anybody out there knows about the "Fletcher-Munson"/ ISO226:2003 contours.

My question is about an EQ...

If you EQ a stereo correctly, is the EQ adjusting frequencies according to these contours?

    Or is it something else?

... or am I WAY TOO OVERTHINKING THIS???

    Thanks!

I think (top o' me head) that the Fletcher munson curve refers to the non linear sensitivity of human hearing which favors certain frequncies.

So they sometimes set the eq's to goose those frequencies, for when it is not too loud and you stil want to hear it.
